Watson House is a colonial farm house and is popular for its structural style and fashion. In 1888, the Rhode Island purchased the house along with 140 acre of farm land. Their idea was to establish an agricultural school in the state. From 1844 to 1888 the house was under its owner Oliver Watson. Throughout its history many families lived in the house. Watson House was also used as a nursery school.
Later on Child Development Center was built in the house in 1958, but that was for short time. The house was left abandoned after 1958. for almost 6 years the house was not used for any thing.
