Colt State Park

The Colt State Park is usually referred as the 'gem' of the systems of State Parks. This Park is rich in history and contains many a things to see and enjoy. The Colt State Park has stretched over an area of 464 acres on Poppasquash Neck adjoining the town of Rhode Island,Bristol and includes facilities like:

  • The Park is alongside the East Bay Bike Path and it connects Bristol with East Providence. The Colt State Park was previously owned by Samuel P. Colt and after his death the Park was purchased by the State of Rhode Island and from the 21st of August, 1968,the land was dedicated as Colt State Park and made open to all visitors.

  • Fees for entering the Colt State Park: No entrance fees are charged to the visitors from 1st July, 1998 although parking fees and all the fees for Picnic and other uses still apply.

    You are required to reserve ceremonial Area and Fireplace Sites in Colt State Park . The rentals for the various places are:

  • Gazebo (Picnic Tables & two Grills) - $ 35.00/day
  • Fireplace Sites - $ 4.00 to $ 30.00/day
  • Commercial Area - $ 15.00 for 3 hours.

  • Open throughout the year from Sunrise to Sunset
  • Office timings in winter - 08:00 - 03:30
  • Office timings in summer - 08:30 - 04:00
