This place is open from May to October, Monday to Friday from 1-4 p.m., and Saturday to Sunday from 11a.m.-4p.m. The Herreshoff Marine Museum consists of 35 powerful and old yachts from the “Golden Age of Yatching” till recent times. The Herreshoff Manufacturing Company had built eight Cup defenders of America from the year 1893 to 1934. They were the first people to build the first torpedo in America. Thus, the Herreshoff Marine Museum provides us with a knowledge of education, inspiration, fun which is related to the highest spirit of sailing. In total this museum consist of 60 real Herreshoff boats, steam engines, artifacts and splendid pictures of the "The Golden Age of Yachting."The Herreshoff Marine Museum can be an interesting place for old people and young kids. The main areas of interest are as follows:

  • Classic yacht restoration/reproduction
  • Adaptation of classic forms of designs and application into modern materials.
