In 1932, Alva sold the house to Mr and Mrs Fredrick H. Prince. Later on in 1963, Marble House was took by Preservation Society of Newport County. Then it was opened to public. The house is a social landmark of Rhode Island. This Glided Age mansion in Newport is attracting maximum number of tourists to the city. Being built of marble the estimated cost of the house is $11 million. The interiors of the house are superb. The pillars of the house are beautifully carved.
