Blackstone Valley

Situated in the Northeastern part of United States of America, the New england region and the states that falls within its territory are all popular tourist destinations and among all, Rhode Island is one of the most important. Because of its great natural beauty and several historic sites, Rhode Island attracts thousands of international tourist throughout the year. Blackstone Valley is one of the most important tourist attractions in Rhode Islands and remain thickly crowded with international tourists almost in every season.

Blackstone Valley is actually region that lies partly in the Rhode Island and partly in Massachusetts. For its wonderful location, Blackstone Valley offers great scenic beauty to tourists but that is not the only reason behind its popularity as a tourist destination. The historical importance of Blackstone Valley is also one of its major attractions. Rhode Island was the first of the 13 American colonies that declared independence from Britishers and Blackstone Valley is that historic place from where the great American Revolution was started. The amazing silence of Blackstone Valley speaks about the struggle of American people for getting independence ans also take you back to the year 1772 when the first bloodshed of American Revolution occurred in Rhode Island.



There are several historic sites in and around Blackstone Valley that you may visit to know about the history of the great revolution. Another major attraction of Blackstone Valley is the John H. Chafee Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor. It is actually a non-traditional national park which was dedicated to those great souls, who sacrificed their lives in the American Revolution. Inside the Blackstone River Valley national Heritage Corridor there is a visitor's Center where you would find numerous exhibits related to the American revolution.

So if you are planning a trip to Rhode Island, plan it in such a way so that you can spend enough time in the Blackstone Valley otherwise your trip would be of no value.
